British-Iranian artist Neda has revealed her new track, ‘Surface’. The Lewisham-based artist uses the track to lean into her family’s long-standing love of football, which would’ve been something she could never have enjoyed in her native Iran. Musically, she continues to expand on her signature mix of country, electronic influences and nods toward the distinctive textures of Persian instrumentation. Neda says she wrote the track “after a fallout with someone I’d been friends with for years. It was becoming harder and harder to run away from the fact that we just didn’t have much in common anymore. If I have to walk away from a relationship, whether that’s a romantic or platonic one, I like to walk away knowing that I tried and did everything I could to make it work.” Neda is gearing up to reveal a new EP in early 2026. -Dan Peeke
